Ray Fisher joined the VFW in
March of 2022 after retiring from the U.S. Navy after 16 years. Ray served as
an engineer, a firefighter, a welder/fabricator and lastly, was responsible for
launching Tomahawk missiles when ordered. In addition, Ray was the Command Financial Specialist, stood watch as
the Anti-Terrorism Tactical Watch Officer and was also an Anti-Terrorism
Training Supervisor. Ray also has a Bachelor
of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo. He has been his Post’s Quartermaster since
June of 2023 and was just unanimously re-elected. In addition to this, he has been the back up
Adjutant until recently, when we was appointed to the position by Commander Roy
Hamilton. Ray also was appointed to be
the District 6 Adjutant by the District Commander, Clint Ward.
Outside of the VFW, Ray enjoys
spending time with his two boys and little girl. Ray spends his summer with the kids on the
ATV’s, dirt bikes or riding the kids around on his Harley. When he gets "me time”, he goes for a ride on
his Harley or can be found volunteering his time at the Post. The family enjoys
their dogs, two European Rottweilers and two rescues, one of which is Ray’s
Service Dog.
